Script

The synopsis goes as follows, a man wakes up on a park bench not knowing where he is or how he got there(this is unchanged from the original film). It then precedes to go directly to a flash back of the character gambling with items such as scratch cards and slot machines( this is because these forms of gambling are cheap, he cannot afford poker due to the amount of money he has lost). The screen then cuts to black and reads 'two weeks earlier'. It then cuts to a medium close up of our main character holding a bottle of alcohol( his other addiction). The camera then cuts to a close up of his mobile phone, showing a contact that reads 'wife and son'. He proceeds then p  to read out the text to the audience, parts of the text were censored for the benefit of younger viewers. He then stands up and vows to give up drinking as well as gambling. Another character then enters, credited as 'friend', they have a short conversation which quickly heats up leading in to a fist fight, this has also been removed again for the benefit of younger viewers. A short clip of the main character lying on the ground to signify he lost the fight. The screen then again cuts to black and reads ' After a long hard look at himself, Lewis (this is when the audience first learn the characters name) decided to enter a twelve step rehabilitation program, and start a talking group of his own to help anyone with his affliction'. The last shot of the film is an over the shoulder shot, it follows a character credited as 'AA member' to one of Lewis's AA meetings, the door of the room then closes and a sign reads ' Lewis's gambling and alcohol rehabilitation centre'. The credits then roll.
