The first thing we did was to write up a script, which was later changed due to the budget. On day one of shooting it was mainly just the crew getting used to the equipment provided for the production, such as the cameras and tripods. This was an accidental shot taken by a member of the crew.
Once the crew had worked out the correct settings and functions for the equipment miss shots were cut to a minimum.
This film was shot in sequence until like other films of this kind, day one of shooting was very productive. Shots of Robert were taken on the set which is visible at the beginning of the film such as the bench scene. A lot of production time was used to contain the public from wondering into shot, as it is illegal to film a person without their consent. As well as this shots were taken of Robert using a scratch card to symbolize his gambling addiction. This is explained in more depth during the directors commentary.
