The Last Of Us

The main character of the Last Of Us, Joel is a complicated and tortured character. He is a white middle aged man, he is portrayed as mysterious due to his unknown past which is only hinted at during the game. Due to the beginning of the game, when Joel's daughter is killed at the beginning of the prolog of the game Joel's character begins a journey which isn't seen by the players. Its seen to change him when he is available to be played as later in his life due to the fact he finds it difficult to open up to the man female protagonist Ellie. This is due to Joel's fear of Ellie replacing Sarah (his daughter), but he is later seen to over one this later in the game. Becoming so attached to Ellie that he refuses to give up her life to find a cure to the virus. He then lies to her to protect their relationship.
